EC to Ghanaians: 7 December remains election day; don’t be misled

The Electoral Commission (EC) has refuted claims circulating about separate voting dates for presidential candidates in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

These allegations, which have been featured in some media outlets, have been described by the Commission as baseless and misleading.

In a statement released on November 24, the EC clarified that voting for the 2024 general elections will take place nationwide on Saturday, 7 December 2024, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

“The general public is hereby informed that the 2024 elections are scheduled for December 7, 2024,” the statement read.

The Commission has urged the public to disregard such misinformation and stressed the importance of citizens turning out in their numbers to cast their votes.

The EC also reminded voters to maintain peace and order while participating in the electoral process.
