Have-Fiakpokope MA Basic School receives support from NGOs

A consortium of non-governmental organisations have presented educational materials to Have Fiakpokorpe M/A Basic School in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region.

It include; Vision of Hope Alliance, a subsidiary NGO of Payangel, Thx22 Foundation, Legacy Foundation, Aspire Foundation, and other partner non-profit organisations.

The items include 100 dual desks, exercise books, reading books, footwear, and clothing for the school children.

Mr Japhet Festus Gbede, the Assembly Member of the Area, who witnessed the event, also donated school uniforms to the school for onward distribution to the pupils who need them most.

The colourful event, according to Mr Gbede, would forever be remembered as one of the most significant moments in the history of his Electoral Area.

“On behalf of my people, I extend our profound appreciation to all the benevolent organisations and individuals who have made this vision a reality and we pledge to make proper use of the items.”

He commended Mr Dickson Assan, a Chartered Accountant, career coach, writer, and Founder of Career Compass Foundation who led the team, for his unrelenting commitment towards the development of the community.

“Just last year, he facilitated the arrival of THX 22 Foundation to drill a mechanised borehole and donated over 1,000 books and footwear to our children. And today, he returns with yet another monumental donation.

“While I have humbly requested additional support in the form of a Health Centre, a KG Block, an ICT Centre, and a Star Link device to connect our children to global opportunities, I want to assure you and your donors that every investment made in my Electoral Area will be jealously protected and put to its intended use,” he stated.

As a farming community known for producing garden eggs in large quantities, Mr Gbede appealed to Mr Assan to leverage his national and international networks to attract investors who could establish a processing factory in the area.

This, he said, would ensure their hard-earned farm produce would no longer go to waste but instead, contribute to jobs, income, and sustainable development for his people.
