The death of Christian Atsu has been confirmed by Christian Atsu’s Turkish representative, Murat Uzun Mehmet.
Following the deadly earthquake that slammed Turkey’s southeast border 11 days ago and claimed the lives of over 35,000 people, the 31-year-old passed away.
Atsu, who is now under contract with the Turkish club Hatayspor, hit an incredible free kick in the 97th minute of their 1-0 victory over Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig on February 5.
He was planning to leave the country, but after scoring that triumph, he changed his mind, according to recent sorrowful circumstances.
