Be disciplined when driving – Road Safety Authority cautions motorists

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) is cautioning motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations to curbs roads accidents during the New Year celebrations.

According to the NRSA has constituted a team to conduct a thorough check of vehicles that ply the road within the various terminals.

Speaking to Citi News after a final Arrive Alive Christmas outreach programme, the Greater Accra Regional Director of National Road Safety Authority, Catherine Hamilton called on the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) to monitor activities of drivers on the road.

“Fortunately for us, we have been able to get new recruits. So we have been able to get a lot more people on board so from now we are permanently going to be at the various lorry terminals to check the drivers before they hit on the road.”

“On the roads too, we know the Police are their intensify efforts. We are also hoping that cameras and speed enforcement gadgets will be on our roads so that there is going to be a lot of discipline on our roads come 2021.”
