Man, 60, murdered in Abor

Police in the Volta Region are investigating to establish circumstances surrounding the murder of a 60-year-old man by unknown person(s) along the Avenorpeme-Hatorgodo road near Abor.

Briefing the media on the incident, DSP Effia Tengey  the head of Public Affairs Unit of the Volta Regional Police Command said, on Monday, March 21, 2022, the Abor District police received a report that one Korku Gbago, a corn miller has been found dead and suspected to have been murdered by an unknown person.

Police proceeded to the crime scene and met his lifeless body almost in a decomposing state lying in a supine position with his bicycle parked about 5 metres away from him.

An inspection on the body shows one of his fingers chopped off, with a deep cut at the occiput area.

The crime scene was re-constructed and body was conveyed to Sacred Heart Hospital Abor/Weme morgue for preservation pending autopsy.

The Command is however appealing to the general public to kindly volunteer reliable information to the Abor Police as the investigation continues to arrest persons behind this dastardly act.
