In recognition of Mr. Charles Agbeve, the local member of parliament, for giving education-related matters top priority, the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBS) leadership and the Education Directorate in the Agotime-Ziope District of the Volta Region have honored him with a citation.
The citation, which was jointly signed by Mr. David Kweku Bosah, the district education director, and Mr. George Gbedema, chairman of the Agotime-Ziope District COHBS, listed many educational initiatives the MP had started.
On World Teachers Day, the honor was presented at the District’s inaugural Teachers Awards ceremony.
The citation listed some of Mr. Agbeve’s contributions, which included paying for remedial lessons for pupils taking the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination and allocating GHC 27,500 to fund education monitoring and the Education Directorate’s electrical expenses.
