Sonuto-Kumadekope Residents Cry For Portable Water

The people of Sonuto-Kumadekope, two neighbouring communities in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region are calling on government, NGOs and  stakeholders to support them with good drinking water.

The people made this known when the news team from SandCity Radio honored a distress call from the Assembly Member of the area, Hon. Francis Kportsikla.

According to him, these two communities have not enjoyed any good drinking water over the last 5 years hence making life unbearable for many.

He added that residents had to travel for about five kilometers to get water from a tap which is indeed far from them.

Hon. Kportsikla also noted that their children sometimes have to skip school because there is no water to bath.

“The people had to que up from dawn till the following day’s afternoon before they could get some muddy water to cook and drink. Our wells have dried up and the only borehole we have is no more. The people are really suffering” He reiterated.

Hon Francis Kportsikla therefore urged for massive support from government and any benevolent association to come to their aid.
