The breakdown of police and civilian relations in the Akatsi South municipality has enraged Hon. For the third time, throngs of young people surrounded the Akatsi police command, expressing their atrocity at the attack on citizens and demanding an explanation for the deaths of one Setor Alekade, a 20 years old student of Akatsi senior high technical school.Two people have been reported dead as a result of a Sunday morning brawl between the police and the angry youths of the town.In a media engagement, he also criticizes the municipal commander, Superintendent Mr. Isaac Bah, for consistently ignoring calls for meetings related to security in the municipality.

One  person have been reported killed in Akatsi, in the Volta region, following a clash between the police and the town’s youth on Sunday morning.

The residents were reportedly rioting in protest over another young man’s death, which they believed was caused by the police.

According to reports, another young man was shot and killed instantaneously during the rampage.

This happened barely two weeks after Etornam, who died in a similar manner last year, was buried.

The Volta Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has since dispatched additional officers to the area.
