VOLTA NPP CUTS SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW REGIONAL OFFICE COMPLEX IN HO

The ruling New Patriotic Party has cut sod for the construction of a Volta Regional party office complex in Ho as its Regional headquarters.

The project which cost 1,690,353.00 million Ghana cedis, when completed will enable the party to have enough working space to operate since the formation of the party.

The structure will contain 6 offices, an executive room, a control room and other ancillary facilities including offices for the regional executives.

The construction of the office complex was a major promise by the Volta Regional Chairman, Hon. Makafui Kofi Woanyah in 2018 hither to his election as Regional chairman. The sod cutting ceremony today marked the beginning of the fulfilment of that promise.

Addressing party members today at the ceremony, Hon Woanyah believes this will strengthen the efforts of the party faithfuls in the region. He added it is important to give a befitting office complex to the Party in the region on whose shoulders they rode to victory and not only create shelter for themselves.

“We cannot continue to build and live in mansions as beneficiaries of the legacies of the NPP and yet deny the party a decent and suitable abode. The party deserves better than we have offered it so far at all levels and we are determined to change that narrative.” He said.

He added the office complex will be completed by the end of 2021 and operationalized because a second project, which is the construction of an ultra-modern auditorium for the party will begin early 2022.

Hon. Woanyah also appreciated the architect’s efforts of incorporating technological concepts to enliven the project even in the future as the facility will also have an adequate car parking space for vehicles to maneuver.

He reminded the patriots to be committed to the core values of the NPP. He added that without a true commitment nothing built today will stand the test of time. The core values he stated are commitment and dedication to public service.

Mr. Freddie Blay, NPP national Chairman who was an invited guest of honor also implored politicians to desist from seeing politics as a way of enriching themselves and be focused on serving the citizens when appointed or elected into public office.

He called for co-operation among political colleagues in other parties in working to improve and enrich Ghana.

The NPP national youth organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, praised the leadership of the party in the Volta Region for winning at least one seat in parliament and increasing the presidential votes in the 2020 elections.
