Benjamin Yorke joins Hearts of Oak until 2026

The Phobians have acquired the services of the budding talented forward until the summer of 2026 after passing a mandatory medical examination.

Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak have officially signed highly-rated Benjamin Yorke from Division One League side Samartex FC in the ongoing transfer window. The 21-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Capital based club after passing a mandatory medical test at Barnor Memorial Hospital in Accra today. The performances of 21-year-old have been a rare highlight for Samartex this season and he opted to join the Phobians ahead of Kotoko and Medeama who were also interested in landing him, because there will be greater chances to get first-team football at the Rainbow club. The youngster will however not play any part of the Hearts of Oak’s upcoming CAF Champions League qualifying phase due to the side’s inability to clinch the deal on time before the submission of their final squad-list to Confederation of African Football (CAF). Yorke has been fantastic and consistent since coming into the limelight having netted 7 goals to finish as Samartex top scorer in the NC special competition in 2019 having replicated same output in zone two of the just ended Division One League. The Ghana U23 star managed to score twelve goals for Samartex FC in the just ended Division One League zone two season. He was part of the Black Stars B squad that failed to qualify for the last CHAN tournament which was held in Cameroon.
