Torgbui Afede XIV supports  victims of recent tidal waves disaster in the Volta Rtegion

Torgbui Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of  Asogli State, on Friday 9th June presented three separate cheques amounting to Three Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh¢300,000.00) to the MPs of Coastal Communities affected by the recent sea destruction in the Volta Region.

The Founder of Sunon-Asogli Power Limited and Africa World Airlines presented the cheques to the Members of Parliament for the areas; Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomshie, Hon. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey and Hon. Richard Kwame Sefe, for Ketu South, Keta and Anlo constituencies respectfully.

According to the former chairman of the Council of elders; these cheques came from Africa World Airlines (AWA) only and He promised more of this will follow from other entities such as the Sunon-Asogli Power Ltd and maybe from the Asogli State itself purposely to help reduce the challenges these MPs are going through to alleviate the current condition of the victims.

Torgbui lamented on how he has sympathy for the victims of the recent tidal waves, He also complained about the unfortunate timing of this disaster.
“it is something that we intend to sustain, which means that we should be able to come to you again.  This is just the first time; we are concerned about disasters across the country and this is happening at the most difficult time-the long closure of the border due to COVID-19″ He said.

Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomshie, on behalf of her colleagues applauded Torgbui for his sympathy and support. The three MPs were very happy and grateful for the kind gesture shown by Torgbui as they promised to utilise the resource to its intended purpose.

Residents along the Coast in Volta Region were seriously hit by tidal waves in separte disasters recently; November 2021 and April, 2022 which resulted into many loosing their homes, properties and businesses. The three members of Parliament have been very instrumental alongside their MDCEs and other benevolent individuals coming into the aid of the affected.
