Bawumia is the man of the moment and destiny, give him a chance to be president – Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has pleaded with Ghanaians to vote for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He says Dr Bawumia is the right person to lead.

“we are entreating the nation to give Bawumia a chance, I see him as a man of destiny particularly for the moment we are in now, I believe he is the man of the moment,” Mr  Kufuor said in a video clip played during the launch of the 2024 NPP manifesto in Takoradi on Sunday, August 18.

This is the second time Mr John Agyekum Kufuor described the Vice President in this manner after becoming the flagbearer in the November 4 2023 internal elections of the NPP.

Earlier, Mr Kufuor said at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) auditorium, the venue for the address on Wednesday, February 7 during Dr Bawumia’s address that “I have always seen him as a man of destiny. when I first saw him that was about 2002, a research assistant at the Governor of BoG. This young man delivered a paper of an international conference of giants in London…immediately he finished his address I told him he is a man of destiny.”

“Give him the chance to come. I have a strong feeling he is truly the man of the moment and Ghana must accept,” he added.

The National Chair of the NPP Stephen Ayensu Ntim also described Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a hard-working person.

He said Dr Bawumia’s hard work has earned him the position of the flagbearer of the NPP for the 2024 elections.

“The election of Dr Bawumia as flagbearer shows that we are not an exclusivist party but that values diversity and embraces different perspectives. I commend Dr Bauwmai for his exceptional determination and hard work which has earned him well-derived position of NPP presidential candidate for 2024,” he said at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) auditorium, the venue for the address on Wednesday February 7.
