Guru wins UG SRC Presidential elections

Renowned musician,  Maradona Yeboah Adjei, popularly known as Guru NKZ has reportedly won the University of Ghana, Students Representative Council (SRC) elections.

According to reports, Guru alongside his running mate, Jeffery Adu-Yeboah polled about 9,455 votes out of the total valid votes cast of 18,659 which is about 50.7% of the total votes cast.

His contender, Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah and running mate, Lawrence Edinam Egleh secured 6,645 votes, representing 35.6% of the total votes cast.

This result automatically made Guru the winner as the SRC president for the University of Ghana.

It would be recalled that the Electoral Commission of the University of Ghana Student Representative Council disqualified Rapper Guru from the presidential race while citing Article 30, which stipulates that candidates who qualify to be elected must be residents of a hall on campus and must qualify to contest for a JCR position in their hall.
