Richard Sefe extends support to tertiary students under Students Support Scheme
Mr Richard Kwame Sefe, the Member of Parliament for Anloga Constituency, has extended financial support to some tertiary students from his constituency under the fourth cohort of his Students Support Scheme, reaffirming his commitment to promoting education and human capital development in Anlo.
The latest round of support, which covered academic fees for both postgraduate and undergraduate students, was presented at a brief ceremony held at the Anloga District Assembly Hall on Thursday.
A total of 15 beneficiaries were supported from the recent cohort donations.
The event was witnessed by other stakeholders in the education sector, including Mr Dominic Dzanado, the District Director of Education, parents, and community members.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Sefe expressed deep fulfilment in supporting the educational ambitions of young people from his constituency.
“Each time I interact with these students, I am reminded of the power of education to change lives and shape communities. Many of them have inspiring stories of perseverance and determination, and it gives me great joy to know that in our own small way, we are helping to keep their dreams alive,” Mr Sefe said.
He emphasised that the Students Support Scheme sought to ensure that no hardworking and deserving student in the Anlo Constituency was denied access to tertiary education due to financial constraints.
“Through this initiative, we are investing in the human resource base of our constituency. Education remains the surest path to empowering families and transforming our communities,” he added.
The Anloga MP urged the beneficiaries to remain disciplined, focused, and dedicated to their studies, reminding them that the gesture came with an expectation of future service to their community, stating that the support comes with the hope that they would someday return to give back to their community and together build a stronger and brighter Anlo.
Some parents and education officials at the event in interacting with the GNA, commended the MP for his consistent support toward education, describing the initiative as a lifeline for many bright but financially challenged students in the area.
Since its inception, the Scheme has benefited several cohorts of tertiary students pursuing various academic and professional disciplines, reflecting Mr Sefe’s broader vision to build an educated and empowered constituency.
