Dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been detained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in an investigation related to the tax obligations of a yellow Lamborghini Urus.

The seizure was part of a larger international investigation, as authorities alleged the car was stolen and connected to the proceeds of a serious fraud scheme.

The seizure was a move under Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office Act, 2010 (Act 804), and the Mutual Legal Assistance Act, 2010 (Act 807).

The EOCO, a specialised agency mandated to investigate and prosecute economic and organised crime, has the authority to seize property suspected to be the proceeds of a serious offence.
