District Assembly Provides New Educational Facility for Anloga Dornorgbor Basic School

The Anloga District Chief Executive Seth Yormewu has handed over a new four-unit classroom block with dual desks to the Dornorgbo Basic School.

This follows the DCE’s initiative to combat the falling standard of education in the district and to also bring calmness to the teachers, pupils, and the entire society after heavy rains destroyed some classroom structures in the school a few years past.

Mr. Yormewu indicated that the district assembly is poised to promote education and hence not hesitant to use the District Performance Assessment Tool [DPAT] fund which they qualified for in 2021 to put up the new structure for the school.

He added that part of the DPAT fund was also used to put up modern shields in the Anloga central market to improve businesses.

The Chief Executive thus urged the relevant stakeholders of the school to ensure that the necessary care is given to the facility. He pledged his commitment to also use his office to make available the needed course materials for the school.

He however lamented that indiscipline among the pupils is also a contributing factor to the poor performance in their academics and therefore appealed to parents and guardians to assist their wards and advise them to take their studies seriously.

The District Director of Education Yvonne Akpene Ame-Bruce reiterated that the headmaster, teachers as well as pupils in the school take adequate care of the new classroom block and other facilities to encourage the district assembly to continue bringing more developmental projects to the school.

She lauded the Chief Executive’s efforts and pleaded with him to follow suit for other schools in the district that need the same assistance from the Assembly.

The headmaster of the school Thy-Will Kobla Edem also expressed gratitude to Mr. Yormewu and the entire Assembly for their timely intervention.  He assured the DCE and the Education Director that necessary measures will be put in place to take care of the facility.
