The Akatsi South Municipal Youth Parliament under the National Youth Authority on Friday the 13th of August 2021 has donated a half trip of quarry dust to help in the ongoing construction of speed-rumps on the Akatsi Tatorme stretch of the Accra-Aflao road due to the persistent road accidents on that part of the road.
The donation was done after several calls from the community folks and the Assembly member of the area, for the authorities to solve the problem fell on deaf ears.
Presenting the material at the site, Rt. Hon. Daniel Amuzu Kale, speaker of the Youth Parliament, who is accompanied by his Clerk Hon. Wonder Gatepe, His Secretary Hon. Rev. Brandford Donard Amedoda, and some members from both the majority and the minority sides of the house said their attention was drawn to the issue after more than six accidents had occurred on that stretch of the road within three months leading to loss of one life and severe injuries.
The speaker then acknowledged Hon. Torgbi Korbadzi lll, Dufia of Gefia, a member of the house for His dear contribution and other members of the house for their great contributions towards the donation and call on other well-meaning indigenes of Avenor to put together their resources to complete the project started by the Assembly member of the area on time.
Receiving the material, Hon. Edward Doe Adadey the Assembly member for the Tatorme Fiato Electoral Area thanked the Akatsi South Municipal Youth Parliament for their efforts and called for more support to complete the project on time to avoid further deadly accidents on that part of the road.
