Adaklu MP commissions new clinic at Adaklu Dave

The Member of Parliament (MP) of Adaklu in the Volta region, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, has handed over a multipurpose clinic facility to residents in Adaklu Dave a community in the Adaklu constituency. 

The three hundred and fifty thousand Ghana dedis (Ghc350,000.00) facility is to help deliver timely health Service to residents of Adaklu Dave and other adjoining communities.

This brought to a total of 17 health facilities in the Adaklu Constituency currently providing health care to residents.

The MP revealed that, it is his plan for his people to have access to quality health service in his constituency and since 2012 when Adaklu was granted a district, the Adaklu District has made headway in the health and education development of its people.

He noted that, their priority as a constituency, has been set on road, education and health sectors.

He said, in their quest to increase access to quality health care and education in the Adaklu constituency, the district can boast of a total of seventeen (17) health facilities and about thirty (30) educational facilities across the constituency.

Mr. Agbodza mentioned that projects in the constituency are mostly funded from the MP’s common fund, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) common fund and his personal fundings.

According to him, the facility needs about fifteen (15) health officers (Nurses) for timely response to service.

He disclosed that, they have paid about Fifty thousand Ghana cedis (GHc50,000.00) school fees to some citizens of Adaklu in the tertiary institutions especially in nursing, to enable them to complete their courses and return to the community to work in the various health facilities.

The facility which is expected to start operations this week is yet to have water extended, but the MP assured that, he has been in talks with the Ghana Water Company to ensure water reaches the facility.

The ranking member of roads in parliament also assured the people of reconstruction the Dave roads that leads to the clinic.

Hon. Juliana Kpedekpo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Adaklu who also witnessed the commissioning ceremony disclosed that, the remaining communities such as Dzakpo and Kpeleho will soon get their share of a health facility at Adaklu Dzakpo since works are in process.

She made it known that the president’s agenda 111 project has started in the Adaklu District.

The DCE further urged women in the district to patronise the numerous health facilities to enable Adaklu record zero tolerance for maternal mortality in the district.

The new facility with Out Patient Department (OPD), reproductive and child health, consulting room, maternity ward and laboratory is expected to serve communities such as Dave, Gbleve and Agortorme.

The District Director of Health Service at Adaklu, Mr. Charles Kofi Azagba disclosed that, Adaklu District the facility will soon be enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme.

He assured that; work will start this week with Seven (7) health officials including one Physician Assistant.| Ghana
