NGO Provides Desks for Agbozume E.P. Kpota Basic School Following Sandcity Radio’s Report

Wings of Love, a non-governmental organization, has moved to provide 100 dual desks in response to reports from Sandcity Radio about the uneasy learning environment at Agbozume E.P Kpota Basic School in the Ketu South municipality of the Volta Region.

Following up on the issue, Sandcity Radio’s Blamey Kekeli revealed that roughly six of the school’s classrooms lack tables for pupils to sit at and study on.

Many students are required to sit on cement blocks in their various classrooms, which, in their opinion, makes it challenging to focus while instruction is taking place.

According to Mr. Collins Ahodetor, a representative of Wings of Love in the Ketu South municipality, the reports by Sandcity Radio sparked the desire of some friends in the United States of America to form an NGO to support the school.

He said that they would keep helping the school because they were aware of the additional difficulties it was dealing with.

Torgbi Adama III, Paramount Chief of Some Traditional Area praised Wings of Love’s work and urged them to keep reaching out to the school. For the school to succeed, he urged other members of the diaspora to do the same.

Mr. Ganyo Kodzovi John, the welfare officer of the school, also expressed his gratitude to the NGO and reaffirmed that the lack of classroom equipment has been significant difficulty in the school, adding that the 100 dual desks that were donated will help to lessen the burden.

He also urged Wings of Love to provide windows and doors so that the school would be secure.

“Because some of our classrooms lack doors and windows, people occasionally enter them to urinate and engage in sexual activity. We tried to avert this, yet we are unable to stop the threat because of a lack of assistance. Therefore, we beg for assistance from everyone”. He spoke up.

But until the pupils feel confident enough to carry on with their studies, Sandcity radio is prepared to monitor several other issues at the school.
