On the 27th day of July, 2021, Dr. Owusu Afiriyie Akoto, Minister for Food and Agriculture, made payment of twenty thousand (20,000) Gh Cedis and five hundred (500) bags of cement towards the construction of a new Volta Regional NPP Office Complex.
This kind gesture from the Minister is to aid the construction of the office complex which has become an urgent need for the strengthening of the foundation and coordination of the Party and Tradition in the Region.
It could be recalled that on the 5th of July this year, the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by the National Chairman, Mr. Freddy Blay joined the Volta Regional NPP Executives to cut sod for the commencement of the construction of an ultra-modern party office in Ho, the regional capital.
The magnificent edifice, will among other facilities, have six offices, a control room, executive offices, hundred (100) capacity conference room, and other auxiliary facilities.As a party stalwart and a founding member, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has the party and its tradition deeply at heart.
Due to his official duty outside the Country, the Minister made a donation of 500 bags of cement and 20,000 Gh Cedis for workmanship through a Personal aide, Mr. Peter Oteng-Darko, when he met with the Volta Regional Executives at the Party’s current Regional Office, Ho.
Receiving the cash on behalf of the Party, the NPP Volta Regional Chairman, Mr. Makafui Woanyah expressed the Party’s profound gratitude and appreciation to the Minister for his generosity towards the development of the NPP, and the chiefly, the Nation’s Agricultural sector.
He recounted the immense support the Minister for Food and Agriculture continues to offer the various sectors of the Party and Nation.
He thanked the Minister and prayed for the success in all his endeavors.The building of a new office complex in the Volta Region has become necessary, due to the fact that, the Party has been operating in a rented office since 1992.
