Major Mahama case: 12 convicted, two others acquitted

Twelve people, including the assembly member for Denkyira Obuasi, William Baah, have been found guilty of involvement in the murder of Major Mahama.

A seven-member panel returned a unanimous verdict of guilty against Bernard Asamoah, Akwasi Baah, Kwame Tuffour, Joseph Appiah Kubi, Kofi Nyarko, Michael Anim, Emmanuel Badu, John Bosie, Akwasi Baah, Charles Kwaning and Kwadwo Anim.

The charges include counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and abetment of murder.

The verdict holds these individuals accountable for playing certain roles in the tragic events leading up to the death of the military officer.

In a contrasting outcome, two of the accused have been acquitted, as the jury determined them not guilty of the charges brought against them.

The two accused, Bismark Donkor and Bismark Abanga, have been acquitted and discharged.
