Work begins on Anyirawase–Tsibu road to boost connectivity in Ho West

Construction work has commenced on the Anyirawase–Tsibu road in the Ho West Constituency, fulfilling a pledge made by Mr Emmanuel Bedzrah, the Member of Parliament (MP), to the people of Awudome during the 2024 Yam Festival.

The project, which connects communities including Tsibu, Dafor, and Bethel Awudome, is expected to improve transportation, promote trade, and strengthen social and economic ties among residents in the area.

The MP, who announced the commencement of work, said the road project was part of his commitment to ensuring equitable development across all sectors of the constituency.

“No longer should residents travel long distances through other constituencies just to reach their kinsmen in Awudome,” he stated.

He said he had personally driven on the stretch from Anyirawase to Tsibu, to inspect the progress of work and experienced the difference firsthand, explaining that it took him barely 30 minutes, even with intermittent stops and at a very slow pace, to complete the journey.

Mr Bedzrah said the project represented tangible progress toward building a more connected constituency and when fully completed, the road would drastically reduce travel time within the enclave and make movement between and Awudome communities and the rest of Ho West much easier.

He assured constituents that similar infrastructure projects would soon be initiated in other parts of Ho West to expand rural areas and stimulate local development.

“This is progress in motion, and together, we will continue to build a more connected and developed constituency,” he affirmed.

Residents of Tsibu and neighboring communities have welcomed the project with excitement, describing it as a long-awaited relief.

“For years, this road has been our biggest challenge,” said Madam Akosua Adzoyi, a trader at Tsibu. Now we can easily transport our farm produce and goods to the market without spending hours on rough roads,” he said.

The Assembly member for the area also commended the MP for fulfilling his promise and called for sustained monitoring to ensure timely completion of the project.

The road construction forms part of a broader infrastructure improvement effort aimed at enhancing mobility, supporting livelihoods, and deepening community integration within the Ho West Constituency.
