The Anloga sub district of the Anloga district health directorate in the Volta region has lamented over a sixty percent (60%) drop in RTSS4 malaria vaccine dose patronage.
This was disclosed by Mr. Nyasembi George, a physician assistant and head of the sub district, during the 2022 annual review programme at Anloga.
Making a presentation on the performance of the sub district, he lamented how parents feel reluctant to bring their children to the various health facilities for the administration of the final dose of the RTSS vaccine.
According to Mr. Nyasembi, the sub district is the largest in the Anloga district with a coverage outreach of over 30,000 populations.
He, however, attributed the development to migration of some parents to other communities, a situation he said made it difficult to trace them to bring their children for vaccination.
He mentioned that they have put some strategies in place to enable these parents to get their children due for the RTSS 4 vaccination.
He said, they are enhancing their contact tracing measures, schools and home visits programmes and periodic mop up exercises to help address the challenge.
Mr. Nyasembi revealed that, the sub district recorded no death in the year 2022 under review.
He further appealed to the directorate to post more personnel to the sub district to enable them to meet their target for the year 2023 and make the Anloga health centre the most preferred health facility in the district with dedicated and committed staff providing all services to clients.
