Wenchi: Robbers kill 25-year-old nurse, four injured

The nurse died when robbers shot into a moving taxi, leaving the driver who was shot in the head in critical condition

Armed robbers on Saturday night attacked a taxi driver and killed a 25-year-old nurse on board at Wenchi in the Bono Region.

According to information available to Asaase News, the deceased, Erica Adufa, was stationed at the Nchiraa Health Center in the Wenchi Municipality.

She was among four passengers traveling in the taxi on the Nchiraa-Subinso road, the police confirmed.

The 32-year-old taxi driver, Sonyam Sampson, who was shot in the head is in critical condition, health officials told Asaase News.

He is currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Two other passengers who also sustained gun shot wounds are currently receiving treatment at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased is at the morgue.
