President Akufo-Addo sacks DG of National Sports Authority, Dodzie Numekevor

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sacked the director general of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dodzie Numekevor, from his role. The decision, according to Asaase News sources at Jubilee House in Accra, takes immediate effect.

President Akufo-Addo is said to have decided to relieve the DG of the Sports Authority of his post following news about the poor state of the country’s football pitches.

Dr Dodzie Numekevor was appointed as the interim director general of the National Sports Authority on 26 February 2024, following the departure of Professor Peter Twumasi, who served in the role for six years.
