PICTURES: Assembling and installation of Ghana’s first modern train successfuly completed

The first of two new trains that the government purchased has been successfully assembled and installed on the railroad track, according to Minister of Railways Development John Peter Amewu.

He said that in order to prepare for the actual testing of the trains on the tracks, electrical and mechanical tests would soon be completed.

About two weeks ago, the first train on Ghana Railways’ long-distance and regional routes arrived in the country from Poland.

On Tuesday, April 16, Amewu posted an update on the installation’s status on Facebook, stating that the government is dedicated to modernizing the nation’s railway system.
