17 kilomeetre Adaklu Helekpe, Dzakpo and Have” roads to be completed next year

The Adaklu Helekpe – Adaklu Dzakpo – Adaklu Have Road networks in the Adaklu district of the Volta region, funded by the government with the Road Fund is expected to be completed in the middle of next year.

The 17 kilomeetre road is being undertaken by Delovely Company limited.

Mr Kenneth Abbiw, Project Manager of the Company, who briefed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the contract for the project was signed in 2019 but work had stalled due to financial challenges.

He told the GNA that the project, estimated to cost GH¢16 million, was started in February 2021.

The Project Manager said that the company had procured new equipment specifically for the project.

He said the project included the construction of 21 culverts and that they were working around the clock to complete them, especially the one on River Kalakpa before the heavy rains set in.

Mr Abbiw appealed to the government to release funds in earnest to enable them to complete the work on schedule.

The road, when completed, would help solve the annual ritual of the area being cut off from the rest of the district during the rainy season and boost economic activities in the area.
