Ahiagbah Applauds Mahama for Prioritizing Tidal Waves Victims in 2025 Budget

Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has commended President John Mahama and his government for allocating GH¢200 million in the 2025 Budget to assist victims of tidal waves in the Ketu South constituency.

During the 2025 Budget presentation in Parliament on March 11, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson announced the allocation to support displaced residents in Agavedzi and nearby communities affected by the disaster.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue on Saturday, Ahiagbah acknowledged the government’s effort while highlighting the delay in the president’s visit to the affected areas. “I commend the government and the president, even though it took him a long time to come.

I was happy he came,” he stated. He also noted that if the situation had occurred under an NPP administration, critics would have immediately questioned the president’s absence.

Despite the delay, he recognized Mahama’s intervention as significant, adding, “He came in a very grand style, he did something good for my people, and I appreciate that.”
