Dr. Letsa Appointed Caretaker Minister for Oti Region

President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister, to serve as the caretaker minister for the Oti Region.

In a letter dated February 21, 2024, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Frema Opare, conveyed the President’s decision to Dr. Letsa, tasking him with overseeing the affairs of the neighbouring region until the new minister-designate is approved by Parliament.

The appointment comes, following a recent ministerial reshuffle on February 14, which saw Mr. Joshua Makubu replaced by Mr. Daniel Machator, the Director of Public Affairs at the University of Media, Arts, and Communications (formerly GIJ) in Accra, as the substantive minister for the Oti Region.

Dr. Letsa, while continuing his duties as the Volta Regional Minister, is expected to provide leadership and ensure continuity in governance in the Oti Region during this transitional period.
