Government disburses LEAP social subsidies to over 324,000 households

As part of its ongoing efforts to alleviate poverty, the government has commenced the disbursement of social subsidies to eligible households nationwide through the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Program.

This marks the 90th payment cycle of the LEAP Cash Grant, which will benefit over 324,073 households across the country.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the program, the Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection (MoGCSP) has deployed monitoring teams to collect data and evaluate the program’s performance. These teams will also educate beneficiaries on the Single Window Citizens Engagement Service (SWCES) for addressing grievances and inquiries.

Beneficiaries can contact the SWCES call center at 0800-800-800 or 0800-900-900.

The amount disbursed to each household depends on the number of eligible members. One-member households will receive GHȻ256.00, two-member households GHȻ304.00, three-member households GHȻ352.00, and four-member households GHȻ424.00.

LEAP is a vital social safety net program that provides financial support to vulnerable households, including those with orphaned and vulnerable children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women and mothers with young children.
