The Keta and Anloga Youth Parliament has officially announced the conclusion of its current term, ushering in an opportunity for a new generation of youth leaders to step forward.
In a press release issued on Monday, Mr. Emmanuel Gameli Dovia, Chairman of the Publicity Committee, invited interested youth to register for the upcoming term and take an active role in shaping the future of the Keta and Anloga Municipality.
The statement encourages prospective youth leaders from both districts to visit the National Youth Authority Secretariat at the Keta Municipal Assembly to express their interest in joining the next cohort of the Keta Youth Parliament.
As a key platform for youth engagement, the Keta/Anloga Youth Parliament provides a space for young people to participate in democratic processes, develop leadership skills, and debate national issues in mock parliamentary sessions. Through these activities, members gain practical experience in decision-making and non-partisan debate.
“The initiative is designed to empower young people to take ownership of their future and contribute meaningfully to their communities. It promotes active youth participation in the democratic process and fosters greater political involvement,” the statement highlighted.
The Keta Youth Parliament, led by Mr. Francis Susuawu, Keta Municipal Youth Director, is urging youth groups and leaders to register or renew their participation with the National Youth Authority. This is a powerful opportunity to join a growing movement focused on youth-led change and take advantage of programs under the newly established Ministry for Youth Development.
A special call is being made for greater female participation. Young women are strongly encouraged to be part of the Youth Parliament, where they can bring their ideas, leadership, and unique perspectives to the national stage.
For years, the Keta Youth Parliament has been a driving force in promoting the welfare of young people in Keta and Anloga, working tirelessly to address challenges and create opportunities for local youth.
Established by the National Youth Authority, the Youth Parliament provides a unified platform at district, regional, and national levels for young people to voice their concerns, deliberate on key issues, and hold leaders accountable—all while developing their leadership and advocacy skills.
