Koku Anyidoho: Nobody can sack me from NDC

In July 2021, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) reportedly expelled Anyidoho, a former deputy general secretary of the party, for indiscipline.

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, founder and CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute has said nobody can sack him from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Anyidoho was reacting to his supposed expulsion from the biggest opposition party in the country.

Speaking with Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show Thursday (17 February) he said, the NDC has not expelled him but “…It was an individual who came out and said so. Without serving any notice, no formal notice an individual run himself tired on the circuit saying that he has suspended me or I have been dismissed.

“But I think towards the end of last year, the gentleman who is in charge of legal at the headquarters came out and said that Koku Anyidoho has not been dismissed from the NDC.”

He added, “Because we are talking about legal matters; you can get excited and run yourself horse on radio and say you’ve sacked Koku Anyidoho just for the propaganda purposes of it but they are other deeper ends of it. And if the idea was to run a propaganda bench and get me to get angry and say I’ve resigned from the NDC … I remain a staunch stoic of the NDC, it doesn’t lie on the tongue of one person to say he has sacked me…”

In 2021, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) reportedly expelled Anyidoho, a former deputy general secretary of the party, for indiscipline.

The party said the decision comes after the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) considered the report and recommendations of the National Disciplinary Committee on the case of misconduct and anti-party behaviour, brought against Anyidoho.

A letter signed by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the general secretary of the NDC, said: “The Committee’s report found you guilty of the said allegations of misconduct and anti-party behaviour and recommended your outright expulsion from the party.”

“You are, therefore, by the decision of FEC, expelled from the National Democratic Congress and for that matter, you are no more recognised as a member of the Party and cannot carry yourself as such.”

In February this year, the party suspended Anyidoho with immediate effect.

This followed the consideration of two separate petitions by party members, Mobarak Abdul Karim and Eric Adjei, against the former presidential communications director.

The petition raised questions about Anyidoho’s conduct, which the party believes breached its constitution.

But Anyidoho said, “Nobody has dismissed me from the NDC, nobody can dismiss me and I won’t go.”
