Kwame Agbodza, Haruna Iddrisu and Eric Opoku to be vetted today

Parliament’s Appointment Committee will sit today, January 20, 2025, as they vet three ministerial nominees.

The sitting, according to their schedule, is expected to start at 8:30 am

Ministerial nominees expected to go through vetting today are nominees for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Abgodza, Education, Haruna Iddrisu and Food And Agriculture, Eric Opoku.

It is expected that these nominees will be grilled to ascertain how prepared they are to handle these key sectors of the country.

This will be the second sitting of the Appointments Committee, chaired by Bernard Ahiafor, with Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah serving as vice chairperson.

Meanwhile, in a post shared via social media, Franklin Cudjoe indicated that he is hopeful the questions will be rigorous enough.

His post read “In other news the president’s ministerial nominees for critical sectors continue to be great. Tomorrow, we should be thrilled by their experience and maturity in their responses at the confirmation hearings or vetting when the nominees for Agriculture, Roads and Transport and Education appear before the appointments committee in Parliament.

Hopefully, the questions would be rigorous as part of what IMANI fellow, Mr Ato Coleman describes as “screening methodologies beyond political links.” Ato believes “we need a more robust performance management system that transparently shows that objectives & outputs& outcomes that our ministers & teams are delivering, what the KPIs are, and how we track progress.”. I agree”.
