Mahama’s ‘Building Ghana Tour’ Train Heads to Volta
Former President John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is gearing up for a two-day tour of the Volta Region from Thursday, January 11, to Friday, January 12, 2024.
The tour, centered around the theme “Building the Ghana we want together,” aimed to provide an opportunity for the flagbearer to engage with party supporters, traditional leaders, stakeholders, and the general public regarding his policies leading up to the December 2024 general elections.
A statement from the NDC Regional Secretary, Mr. James Gunu, indicated that the ‘Building Ghana’ tour would commence at Sogakope with a meeting with the Party stakeholders in the constituency.
The flagbearer will also hold a community engagement at Aflao in the Ketu South Constituency and Tegbi in the Keta Constituency. Additionally, he will commission a party edifice at Dzodze in Ketu North Constituency and address party supporters to conclude the first day.
On his second day, he will pay a courtesy call on the Volta Regional House of Chiefs in Ho and later address a town hall meeting at the Ho Technical University.
The former President will conclude this tour of the Region with a campus connect programme where he will interact with tertiary students, teacher unions, and stakeholders in education at St. Francis College of Education in Hohoe.
Mr. Gunu conveyed the assurance that Mr. Mahama’s leadership under the NDC would bring about positive transformation, countering the hardships experienced under the current Nana Addo-Bawumia-led NPP government.
