NDC is running out of ideas says Bawumia

The presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, and  Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has accused the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) of copying the ideas of the NPP government.

Bawumia said this during the inauguration of the party’s campaign and manifesto teams in Accra on Wednesday, 28 February 2024. He said the NDC has no message for Ghanaians and is now passing off some of the achievements and vision of the NPP as theirs.

“They are [making] promises that we have already done. Do you hear that they want to do Free WIFI in senior high schools? Can someone tell them that it has already been done? I mean just whisper…. little research, they [NDC] would have known.

“But they are promising things we have already done. It tells you that they are running out of ideas when you start copying ideas of your opponents and trying to present them as yours,” Dr Bawumia said.

The NPP record

The vice president said the record of the NPP government is far better than that of the opposition NDC and “we will soon put out our record for public scrutiny as the president mentioned in the performance tracker which Kojo Oppong Nkrumah will launch very soon for us next month.”

Dr Bawumia further stated: “Our record is solid and it is clear for everybody to see. Our vision has been clearly laid out and it will be reinforced by the manifesto. We know where we want to take the country. It is very clear.”
Call for party unity

He admonished the rank and file of the party to support the campaign and manifesto teams in relaying the party’s achievements and vision to the public. He said it is only through unity that the party will be able to win the 2024 general election.

“So! in terms of the vision and the ideas, we have the vision and we have the ideas and we are trying to implement them.

I believe that the ingredients that are necessary for us to win the 2024 election are in place and if we all pull together, we are going to do so.

“I am really [really] excited about the prospects of prosecuting this campaign very [very] strongly across the country and this is why we are wasting no time,” the flagbearer of the NPP stated.

The NPP’s manifesto committee is headed by former Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu while a former Local Government minister, Dan Botwe chairs the campaign team.
