Government has increased national service allowance from 559 to 715.57. The statement signed by the secretariat will back date the payment of active service personnel to January 2023.
A letter which confirmed the approval was signed on the 18th of July, 2023 after a successful engagements between the finance ministry represented by a Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei-Asare, National Service Scheme and the Fair Wages and Salaries commission.
“The Management of the National Service Scheme has secured government approval for upward adjustment of monthly allowances for National Service Personnel from GH¢559.04 to GH¢715.57, with effect from January, 2023”.
The letter further urged the “Controller and Accountant-General to give effect to the new levels of the personnel allowances.
“Management therefore urges all National Service Personnel to exercise patience as the necessary administrative processes are being concluded to have all the arrears duly paid”
