Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on Christians in Ghana to pray for the country as it heads into the 2024 election.

He believes that the elections should be about the exchange of ideas and not insults that may lead to abuse.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who was speaking at the Holiness Pentecostal Church, New Gbawe reminded Christians of their role in ensuring peace before, during, and after the election.

“Let’s pray for a peaceful election. We don’t want any fights because of elections. It must be an exchange of ideas and not insults. There should not be any fight. We should just exchange ideas,” he said.

He further indicated he needs their prayers to be able to win the elections to work for the development of the country.
