NPP VOLTA REGIONAL CHAIRMAN HON. MAKAFUI KOFI WOANYA CALLS FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF MDCE’S IN THE REGION.
The NPP Volta Regional chairman, hon. Makafui Kofi Woanya has called on all Assembly members in the Volta Region to confirm the president’s Municipal and District Chief executive (MDCE) nominees in the region to accelerate development.
He said this in an interview on the sandcity morning show with Patrick Dzramado.
According to him, it is his responsibility to rally support for the nominees to get the confirmation needed to accelerate development towards ‘Breaking the eight’ agenda in the 2024 upcoming elections.
He added that as a political party they are poised to give the electorates the development they voted for in the 2020 elections so that the electorates can vote for them to break the eight years tradition in Ghanaian politics.
He expressed his joy over the calm in the region so far following the announcement of the nominees by Hon. Dan Botwe on 19th September,2021 and urged for same during and after the confirmation of the nominees slated to begin Thursday,30th September,2021 with the North Dayi, Kpando and Hohoe Districts. Meanwhile the president Akufo-Addo’s first DCE nominee has been approved in the Gomoa West District Assemblies in the person of Bismark Baisie Nkum where he polled 39 out of 52 votes. He was renominated as DCE by the president.
He doubles as the president of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana(NALAG).
