The King of Dagbon, Ndan Ya Na Abukari II, has praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for conducting a clean campaign ahead of the December 2024 general election.
According to Ya Na, Dr. Bawumia listened to the counsel he offered him when the NPP flagbearer first visited him, saying that the Vice President has so far campaigned on issues, highlighting his government’s achievements without resorting to insults.“I wish to commend you for adhering to my advice not to use offensive words in your campaign.
Issues-based campaigns devoid of insults is what Ghanaians need. I entreat you to direct all your campaign members and supporters to follow your good conduct,” the Dagbon King said.This came to light when Dr. Bawumia paid a courtesy call on Ya Na at the Gbewaa Palace as part of his five-day constituency-focused tour in the five northern regions.
He also commended the NPP government for the numerous development projects in Dagbon that have had a good impact on socio-economic activity in the area.Ya Na, however, urged the NPP flagbearer to assist the contractor in charge of the Yendi Sports Stadium in completing the project, which will improve sports infrastructure in the kingdom’s eastern corridor.
Change AgentThe flagbearer of the ruling NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, disclosed that he has been an agent of change as Vice President with its limited powers.According to him, he will do even more as President when given the mandate to serve as leader of the nation.
Dr. Bawumia said he had initiated 33 policies which have transformed Ghana, and urged the electorate to vote for him on December 7.
