Lawyer Lom Nuku Ahlijah, in collaboration with the Living Presence Evangelistic Network – LIPEN, has donated a major consignment of medical supplies to the Keta Municipal Hospital as part of activities marking the facility’s 100th anniversary.
The donation is aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery at the hospital, which serves as a key referral center for residents of Keta, Anloga and surrounding communities in the Volta Region. For a century, the hospital has provided critical health services despite ongoing resource challenges.
LIPEN is a non-denominational Christian group* that seeks to spread the word of God and demonstrate love to people just as Christ did. Beyond its evangelistic work, the group has prioritized humanitarian outreach, and the donation to Keta Municipal Hospital ranks among its largest interventions to date.
Items donated include pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, digital thermometers, oxygen masks and tubing, wound care supplies, catheters, urinary drainage bags, feeding tubes, enteral syringes, and other essential medical consumables. Hospital authorities noted that the supplies will support emergency, surgical, maternity and general wards, and will help ease pressure on the facility’s procurement budget.
During the presentation, Lawyer Lom Nuku Ahlijah addressed staff and management of the hospital. He said the gesture was driven by the need to support an institution that has served the community for 100 years. He also urged citizens not to rely solely on government, but to contribute in their own way whenever the need arises, adding that development requires collective effort from individuals, groups and organizations, especially in sectors like health.
He further indicated that his support will extend to other sectors, including education, as part of efforts to promote human capital development in the municipality.
Officials of the Keta Municipal Hospital expressed appreciation for the donation, describing it as timely and impactful. They assured that the items will be distributed to the units that need them most and used to improve patient care.
Management called on other individuals and organizations to emulate the gesture, noting that such partnerships are vital as the hospital begins its second century of service.
