VRA DONATES TO FLOOD VICTIMS IN ANLOGA, KETA AND KETU SOUTH

The Volta River Authority(VRA) in collaboration with NADMO has presented some relief items to 2 Municipals and a District Assemblies to alleviate the suffering of the community  due to high tides and the rising levels of the Keta Lagoon. 

These are Anlo, Keta and Ketu South District/Municipals.

The Emergency Preparedness Plan Coordinator of the Volta River Authority Ing Kwame Darkwa stated that the donation of these relief items are part of VRA’s ongoing effort to help support the inhabitants of Anlo District, Keta and Ketu South Municipalities who have been affected by the tidal waves and the rising levels of the Keta Lagoon.

Mr. Seji Saji, Deputy Director General Technical and Reforms, , who received the items on behalf of the assemblies, expressed that the three districts for sometime now had been struggling with the issue of tilda waves, among other issues and saw that donation was timely as it’s will help minimize the suffering on those victims. He thanked VRA for the donation and assured that it will be put to its intended purpose.

The items donated to the districts included Rice, vegetable oil, Mackerel, Tin tomatoes, 
Sugar and some  packs of toilet roll.

Present at the donation  Mr. Emmanuel Gemegah – MCE Keta Municipal Assembly, 
Mr Seth Yormewu Anlo DCE, and William Kwaku Mensah , Assembly member Apekotuime electoral area (Rep for Ketu South West MCE).
