Debate Over Keta Reclaimed Lands Deepens as Gilbert Korbla Keklie Speaks Out

Former Assembly Member for the Keta Constituency, Gilbert Korbla Keklie, has challenged recent claims that no official records exist confirming land allocation for the University of Health and Allied Sciences School of Pharmacy Project in Keta.

In a statement responding to information circulating online, Mr. Keklie said assertions suggesting that the project lacked documented land acquisition were inaccurate and misleading.

According to him, there are official records and processes that support the allocation of land for the proposed UHAS School of Pharmacy project in Keta.

He explained that the land acquisition process involved consultations with traditional authorities, local government officials, and other relevant stakeholders, adding that documentation relating to the project was duly handled through the appropriate administrative channels.

Mr. Keklie noted that attempts to deny the existence of such records risk undermining years of advocacy and planning aimed at bringing tertiary health education infrastructure to the Keta area.

He stressed that the initiative was intended to expand educational opportunities and boost healthcare training capacity within the Volta Region.

“The facts surrounding the allocation of land for the UHAS School of Pharmacy project are verifiable,” he stated, urging individuals and groups circulating contrary claims to conduct proper checks with the relevant institutions before making public pronouncements.

He further called for unity among stakeholders in Keta and the wider region to support development-oriented projects rather than engage in controversies that could hinder progress.
