Ho MCE moves to reallocate Ho Central Market Stores in transparent manner
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ho, Mr Stephen Adom, has addressed concerns surrounding the ongoing audit and reorganization of market stores at the Central Market.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he highlighted the need for the relocation of certain market stores to ensure fairness and accountability in the market’s operations.
According to Mr Adom, some individuals exploited their political connections to secure stores within the market, only to leave them unused.
“Some people were promised stores and even had their pictures taken, but never received them,” he stated.

He further revealed that others obtained the stores through unofficial means, paying between GHC 250.00 and GHC 300.00, and later sub-let them at higher rates ranging from GHC 400.00 to GHC 500.00.
The MCE urged the public not to perceive the exercise as an act of political retaliation.
He emphasised that the reorganization aimed to create a fairer and more transparent system for all traders in the municipality.
Mr Adom assured residents that the Assembly remained committed to addressing issues of favouritism and irregularities in the allocation of market stores.
