Minority blocks NIB’s attempted arrest of Ntim Fordjour
The Minority in Parliament has intervened to prevent the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) from arresting Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Assin South in his home.
The incident comes amid heightened political tensions following allegations made by Rev. Fordjour regarding suspected illicit activities at the Kotoka International Airport.
NIB operatives besieged the MP’s residence to execute an arrest warrant, but the Minority swiftly acted to block the move.
The opposition has described the attempted arrest as politically motivated and an effort to intimidate Rev. Fordjour, who has been vocal about issues of governance and national security.
The Minority has vowed to resist what it perceives as state-sponsored harassment and has called on civil society and the international community to take note of the situation.
Meanwhile, the NIB is yet to issue an official statement on the matter, leaving the public awaiting further developments.
